I work with a guy who's initials are DG. Usually this isn't an issue since we don't go by initials at work, but I have 1 weekly report that's all initials. And every week I wonder what the heck Deeg has to do with whether or not my job numbers are active.

Just thought I'd share. I won't even go into the other fannish names that regularly pop up in my paperwork.

(EDIT: Dear LJ, whyfor did you make the rest of my title white on my white background? Just b/c I put a community in the title. Seriously?! Ugh.)

Had a working snow day today, which was actually pretty awesome. My boss tends to call less on working snow days. (He's not often in the office, so he actually calls in a lot, sometimes in a very annoying, rapid-fire kind of way; i.e. he waits just long enough for you to either start working on something or get back to what he'd previously interrupted before calling with 2 or 3 more things. Darling man.) I wasn't as productive as I could have been, I realized as I was packing up, but it honestly wasn't a bad day. Only one semi-late call about the stinkin' furniture :-/

So why am I so tired?

So we're doing a Big Thing at work tomorrow, which entails me getting there by 6/6:15am. Very very ouch. Technically I should have been in bed by now, but I got in after 7 so that wasn't happening. Then I'm away visiting my Gram starting Thurs, so my internet access will be limited to cell phone :-/ I'm actually looking forward to it (Gram! No ability to do work-work!) but it's already causing work-related issues. Le sigh.

...I have to go back to work tomorrow. waaaaaaaaaah!

In unrelated news: I don't know how to take the news/rumors that LJ is on the verge of collapse and we're all going to lose the many precious things we've posted here. This is, in part, b/c I avoided posting personal and precious things here for a long time. I'm not really one to share with people I'm not very close to. Go figure, I've recently decided to start working on that. Thank you, LJ for failing. Anywho...so I've had the recent (as of 1 whole minute ago) epiphany: what if folks moved back to Yahoo!Groups? I've got one just for my poetry. I suppose I could open one just for my fic, etc. Wouldn't be the same though--no f-list of joy. Shnarf. And I've seen the other journals. They're...er...not pretty.

EDIT: Y!Groups don't have icons :(

So we all got a bottle of wine from the office at our annual Christmas party. The only problem is I don't particularly like wine, at least not any variety that I've tried thus far. There is a family friend I can give it to, but I'm going to be away for a little while (btw, I'm going away for New Year's but will still likely keep my regular internet hours) and don't know when I'll be able to get it to him. Suggestions for storage so it doesn't turn into vinegar before I can pass it over? It's a red, if that helps.

We're doing a yankee swap at work. I've decided to knit a scarf...by Weds.

It's a shame that I don't have a camera....

If you like Ugly Betty and you like the new Batman movies, why aren't you reading Betty and the Bat? I'm just saying.

In unrelated news: My bosses are away with their kids. It's a deserved vacation, since things have been crazy both personally and professionally for them (though we would have liked more than the few days' heads up that we got). And so while they're away I can now add to my list of duties...sea-monkey-sitter. The crazy thing is they have become the fascination of the office. At this rate the kid's not going to get his sea-monkeys back. Actually we're a wee concerned that they won't survive the cold overnights in the office.

I've been itchy to write lately, but mostly at work where I'm least able b/c it's just so busy. Even when it's not busy I invariably regret slacking b/c it will later turn out that I actually could have used that time better. Ah well...

so my wordcount as of this moment (b/c who knows what it'll be by the time i'm actually done tonight) is....
