Baaaaah

tinpra: (Default)
As seen on [livejournal.com profile] honorh's and [livejournal.com profile] dragonbat2006's journals, and b/c we all know I like to go baaaaah at memes ;) (where is that sheep icon???)

1. Go to page 7 (or 77) of your current WIP.
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written.

From the novel:

He did not mean to hurt me.

His words were not deliberately chosen.

If he knew the whole truth he wouldn’t have said what he said.

He did not mean to hurt me…

“If you’re sure,” Tessa said, letting the words hang for a moment before continuing, “because I can change the rooms easily. We have more than enough space.”

Behind them, Demetrio answered. “We’re sure.”

Tessa looked over her shoulder again and smiled briefly at them as if that was the answer she had been hoping for. “Good.” She turned around, never changing the crawl at which they were walking.

1. Comment on this post.

2. I will give you a letter.

3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.

I got G from the ladies at [livejournal.com profile] faithburke

1. Gollum (LOTR movies)
I've rarely left a theater more in love with a character. Having re-watched the movies several times now, I still love him, but I really pity him, too. Poor crazy thing...

2. Giles (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Father figure, research dude, secretly a bad mamajamma... Do I really need to explain? C'mon, it's Giles!

3. Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter)
It's not said often enough, but Ginny's an amazing witch!

4. Gowron (Star Trek)
Gowron was small, sneaky, decisive and not afraid to do what he thought was best for his people. In some ways he was the anti-Klingon, then he was everything a Klingon politician should be: freaking scary.

5. Garon (Archangel by Sharon Shinn)
Upstanding, solid kind of man. A bit thick when it comes to girls, as all girls kinda presume men are, but a solid leader and husband-type. What more could you ask for in a scifi-romance lead?

Comment and I'll give you a color. Then in your journal, post ten things of that color that you like. (I'll only give you a color if you specifically ask for one, so feel free to comment even if you don't want to do this meme!)

[livejournal.com profile] lieueitak gave me green :D

Green is the color of my true love's hair. )
tinpra: (Default)
(and it's faster to post than Katya's color meme, tho I'm still collecting pics!)

Comment and I will...
01. Respond with something random about you.
02. Tell you which color you remind me of.
03. Tell you my first memory of you.
04. Tell you what animal you remind me of.
05. Ask you something I've always wondered about you.
06. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
07. Tell you my least favorite thing about you.
08. Challenge you to post this on your journal.
09. Do a jumping jack. Pump my fist in the air!
10. Drink more Tea!
11. Tell you the time.
12. Reply with an amusing Youtube video.

~ Anyone who looks at this entry wants to do this has to post this meme and their current wallpaper.
~ Explain in no more than five sentences why you're using that wallpaper.
~ Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! The point is to see what you had on!

I change my wallpaper seasonally; this is Winter.
It took me a little while (and a few interim wallpapers), but I finally settled on this scene in particular because of the element of light.
Other snow-scenes or winter-bare trees were too dark or depressing.
My other Winter wallpapers tend to be variations on fire (fire dancing, flames, phoenix shapes in fire), dark colors, space, or Moya.

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

And since, y'know, I didn't gack this from anyone (unless it's still gacking when when you re-do a meme you once did 2 years ago, in which case totally re-sheeping from [livejournal.com profile] moony_blues) feel free to choose up to seven interests from my ridiculously long profile and I'll tell you what they mean and why I'm interested.

picked up from [livejournal.com profile] time_converges

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Friday I ruled Canada as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). In June I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In April I helped [livejournal.com profile] lieueitak hide a body (-173 points). In October I gave [livejournal.com profile] faithburke a Dutch Oven (-10 points). Last Sunday I set [livejournal.com profile] narindelle's puppy on fire (-66 points).

Overall, I've been nice (479 points). For Christmas I deserve a toy train!

Sincerely,
tinpra

Write your letter to Santa! Enter your LJ username:

Although [livejournal.com profile] lieueitak might say that hiding the body should get plus-points *shrugs* I mean right?

Dear [livejournal.com profile] lieueitak,
I don't really know how to tell you this, our socks don't match. I think I realized it when your dog humped my leg at the Elton John concert and I saw you sit on the elephant in the corner. I'm sure you're frostbitten enough to understand that your driving sucks. I'm returning your car to you, but I'll keep your photo with the mustache drawn on it as a memory. You should also know that I never will forget that night and you ruined my attempts at another world war.

Love always,
tin

as seen on [livejournal.com profile] houses_on_fire's blog: Name a character or pairing and a prompt, and I'll write you a one sentence fic.

This is open to everyone, including random passersby. Crossovers welcome. A brief listing of fandoms that I write include: La Femme Nikita, BtVS/A:ts, Tin Man, Smallville (a la early seasons), Harry Potter, X-Men, Gilmore Girls, Gentlemen Bastard Sequence (thanks Yuletide), Firefly, Star Trek (all series except Enterprise), Highlander. And if you just happen to know that I fangirl a fandom not listed, feel free to request something from it as well.

1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

In actuality I'm talking about one of my fave topics in the whole wide world...icons )
tinpra: (Default)
Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

This would of course mean that you know (a) where my stories are hiding and (b) have bothered to read any of them :p

[livejournal.com profile] lieueitak, you should do this. At least you pub as yourself.

I hate being thwarted. Argh.

Unrelated: I'm tired and I could do with a hug. Or maybe just a pillow.

via [livejournal.com profile] kseda and [livejournal.com profile] erinm_4600 and probably a host more if I make it down the 30 post f-list.

Anywho: Post a sentence from your works in progress. No context, no nothing, do as many as you like but only post one sentence.

- The last time Wyatt Cain found himself having to carry a small child anywhere, he and Adora had just abandoned their vehicle at the side of the road and were taking to the forest on foot.

- And though they didn’t have the same kind of mass communication then that we do, people and news did travel along trade routes.

- “Pretty please,” she deadpanned, “with freshly killed dead things on top?”

haven't done this one in a while. can't remember what I got then...

You Act Like You Are 26 Years Old

You are a twenty-something at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.

You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.

The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

tinpra: (Default)
via [livejournal.com profile] krool1280

[Allegedly] The Big Read thinks the average adult has only read six of the top 100 books they've printed below.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them.

(I requested (or responded to) [livejournal.com profile] velara so here we go: )

To the first five people who comment to this post, I will gift you with something of my own crafting. It may be an icon, a manip, a drawing, a ficlet, or something completely random. You may love it or you may think it sucks, but regardless, it will be made with love for you from me. ;) Feel free to give me a hint of what you might like (ship, character, actor/actress, fandom, color, etc.)

The catch? You must pay it forward and post this in your journal so you can gift 5 of your friends with special gifts made by you.
