1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

In actuality I'm talking about one of my fave topics in the whole wide world.... Rissy chose:

Anyone who has seen my icon dumps knows that a lot of my icons are HC related, particularly House related, specifically Ravenclaw. Why? Because [livejournal.com profile] hphouseicons was the first icon community I joined, and it took me a minute to get over House-ness and just appreciate a good icon. Anywho, I love [livejournal.com profile] avilina's stuff, particularly her text icons. As for this icon in particular: my icons are chosen by keyword themes. The keywords stay the same, the icons change. At the moment, this is the icon for "fangirl" which I thought made it fitting.

This one is the icon for "procrastinate" b/c, seriously, what's more procrastinatious than decorating for an 80s dance? Exactly. Anywho, text icon quoting my much beloved "Veronica Mars" by [livejournal.com profile] lucky_penny01. I can't remember what episode she's quoting (I'm not that much of a fangirl for hardly anything) but I thought it was perfect. And the 80s...they were shiny.

This is a scene from "The 4400" in which Left Agent and Right Agent are friends, but Left Agent is infected with trippy drugs and Right Agent is not...so they pull their guns on each other. Sorta love this whole sequence. So much so that I got a few icons from [livejournal.com profile] mooners_icons re it. Anywho, since having to pull a gun on your bff is not a good look, it is the icon for "bad day." She actually has one with the text "bad day" on it but, as you can perhaps tell, I prefer all photo or all text for my icons.

Ah Miss Rose Tyler. Companion to my first doctor, the only doctor Nine, from "Doctor Who." Actually I might have picked this up even if I didn't know the actress/character simply b/c I like icons like this: intense, close up, full of vitality. I've made a couple in this vein and have picked up many many more. I could do a whole series of intense females (or abstracty men. go fig.) Rose is the icon for "woman." Intense, n'est-ce pas?

This is the icon for "space," one of my more abstract keywords (like "green" tends to also work in a lot of ways for me). I chose Legolas staring at the sea (yes that's the blond elf tho it's hard to tell b/c of his distance) to connote the longing...the emptiness and to visually represent literal, open space. It perhaps works more with its keyword if you know it's Legolas and know the Tolkien lore behind elves and the sea, but I think the visual is fine. Betw the visual and lore, it encompasses all that I'm looking for. At least for the moment. He's a bit unreachable there, y'know? But is he stoic? Strong? Lonely? Longing? There's room for all of that.

You are so very interesting! :D

I was thinking to myself I don't have an all around appreciation icon for HP. I must look for one, but it will definitely not be a movie one.

Only on paper, I assure you ;) My own mother has been known to recoil in mental distress after being subjected to a verbal version of my train of thought. It's dangerous in there, I tell you, dangerous. *shifty-eyes*
