As I was telling the inimitable jaguarx13, lj is currently try to bribe me into a paid account. I know I'm not the only one, but this is my first time seeing the banner today. It so happens that jaguarx13 has a paid acct, and reminded me that with paid you get more icons. Which reminded me that, at last count, I have well over 1,000 icons on my hard drive. (To which jaguarx13 remarked "jinkies" one of my fave exclamations, personally.)

I consider icon collecting akin to miniature collection, especially since there are many that I can't ever imagine using for whatever reason. I think they're pretty, but they don't represent me, so to speak.

In this vein, though, I'm willing to start posting them again if anyone's interested. I usually do 20-40 at a time in deference to those on dial-up (I feel you my slow-connecting sisters and brothers). They had been sorted by maker, but now that I've "organized" them by theme, you'll probably get them that way. Maybe. Any interest? Seriously, though, I'm sure if I think on this long enough I'll post icons just because ;) Of course anyone who explicitely asks not to be re-posted will not be.

So....I won Best Concept over at the tm_challenge, only to be a total failure at finishing my fic in time for this week's challenge. Le sigh. And it's sitting open in my taskbar and everything. Worse, I have several ideas/versions of this story running through my head. Oy.

Anyway, don't be like me. Don't be a loser. Vote.

picking up a couple of icons from erinm_4600, and finding out that I am inches away from having 800(!!) icons, reminded me to post some. So here you go. Unfortunately I'm going in alphabetical order, so there are lots of fantastic icons by folks/comms like burgundy_shoes that I won't get to for a little while :(

So I've changed my lj layout (as well as updating my icons). And what I'm realizing is that I wish I could have an LJ layout for my recent entries, which I personally rarely look at, and one for the Friends Page, which I look at all the time. Before I go trying to figure out a way to suggest this to the powers that be, no one knows if that's actually doable, do they?

So I'm mostly finished with changing my icons and have, once again, changed my default. Thoughts? Should I switch to something else? Should I wait until I have all 15 before I make up my mind?

Of course this may prove that I have no mind, lol.

Good grief I'm going to be up a creek pretty quickly if I keep insisting on using cute subject lines.

So as I mentioned, I have a messload of icons that I've acquired over the last....2 or three years since I've been active on LJ. At this rate (since I doubt I'll be geting a paid account any time soon) I'll be old and gray before you guys see even half of what I have, not to mention I'm going to need an external hardrive soon at the rate I'm going.

All that to say, below the cut there be icons. Icons of all, um, well they're actually all the same shape and approximate size, but definitely wildly different genres and fandoms. There's a fair emphasis on Harry Potter (specifically Ravenclaw) b/c those were the first icons I started collecting. Anywho, have a gander. This will probably take me a few days to post. I apologize to my fellow dial-up users for the bandwidth I'm taking up :(
