I've been told…
Dec. 4th, 2011 08:36 amThat I seem to be sad lately, in part b/c of the series on Job and depression that I've been posting. I'm okay. As I mentioned to airehen, I've been really enjoying my daily devotional's series on Job, but found this particular section worth sharing. Admittedly, it's been crazy-pants in the tinpra household, with super busy work schedules and super insane work issues, but by and large we're okay by the grace of God (lots and lots and looooooots of grace). So I had been thinking of posting the non-depression sections of my Job devotionals, and it looks like I should :)
Happy Sunday, all.
Happy Sunday, all.

A little bit of grr, a little bit of argh
Sep. 14th, 2011 08:38 pmI have 4 fics for "Inception" -- only one of which has gotten reviews on ff.net. the other three have strong hit numbers, have been favorited...everything but reviews. What does that meeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaan?
How do ya'll feel, fellow fic-writers, when you this happens to you? One the one hand it's frustrating not getting reviews on stories posted to lj since there's little way of knowing who's reading or bookmarking your work. On the other hand, there's the frustration of knowing ppl are reading your work on ff.net and having to wonder why the heck they won't say yea or nay about it!
Argh!
Then again, maybe this doesn't happen to you guys. Meep.

Apr. 10th, 2011 09:05 pmnew layout courtesy of
ruthenia_alba. what think ye?
I think this just begs for new icons...
EDIT: I always find the hardest part of having a new layout is getting used to my friends page. I somehow keep expecting it to look like the previous journal style. :s

how to deal with silverfish

cumaeansibyl "Shoe. And then put the corpse up on a toothpick as a warning to others."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *wipes tears from eyes* If that actually work, I'd totally pike a silverfish on the windowsill of my bathroom. De-sgusting buggers.

Mar. 29th, 2011 09:51 pmAs I was telling the inimitable
jaguarx13, lj is currently try to bribe me into a paid account. I know I'm not the only one, but this is my first time seeing the banner today. It so happens that
jaguarx13 has a paid acct, and reminded me that with paid you get more icons. Which reminded me that, at last count, I have well over 1,000 icons on my hard drive. (To which
jaguarx13 remarked "jinkies" one of my fave exclamations, personally.)
I consider icon collecting akin to miniature collection, especially since there are many that I can't ever imagine using for whatever reason. I think they're pretty, but they don't represent me, so to speak.
In this vein, though, I'm willing to start posting them again if anyone's interested. I usually do 20-40 at a time in deference to those on dial-up (I feel you my slow-connecting sisters and brothers). They had been sorted by maker, but now that I've "organized" them by theme, you'll probably get them that way. Maybe. Any interest? Seriously, though, I'm sure if I think on this long enough I'll post icons just because ;) Of course anyone who explicitely asks not to be re-posted will not be.

Sep. 15th, 2010 02:04 pmI don't know who, if anyone else, regularly checks LJ on their smartphone, but have you seen the new mobile site? You'll never guess what they snuck onto the homepage. Why it's ONTD! Um, if I didn't want it on my regular LJ homepage why the heck would I want it on my phone? Now all I have to do is figure out where I can complain.
Grr. Argh.
