I work with a guy who's initials are DG. Usually this isn't an issue since we don't go by initials at work, but I have 1 weekly report that's all initials. And every week I wonder what the heck Deeg has to do with whether or not my job numbers are active.

Just thought I'd share. I won't even go into the other fannish names that regularly pop up in my paperwork.

(EDIT: Dear LJ, whyfor did you make the rest of my title white on my white background? Just b/c I put a community in the title. Seriously?! Ugh.)

Oddly enough even though most of my flist are fannish I don't think this will touch on most of you, so feel free to skip if you don't see a tag that peaks your interest.

DG crossed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. It didn't matter that she was bent over in an awkward position because of the armchair, or that his shoulder was digging into her neck. It didn't matter that his body was stiff as a board or that the muscles in his arms were tense with emotions she knew he didn't want to name. What mattered was the way he was holding on to her arm where it crossed his chest, like it was the only thing keeping his head above water. The bruises would be impressive, but inconsequential compared to their loss--his loss.

She kissed the side of his head, pressing toward his skin despite his hair. "I'm sorry," she whispered into it. "I'm so, so sorry."

She held fast to her tears.

Unless I can somehow remember what novels I read between UnChristian and the stuff I listed in the last post, this is all going to be fic-related. Really, it's a shame the library doesn't keep records of these kinds of things. It'd make my life so much easier ;)

I don't know if I ever mentioned this one, but it's worth it for the unique pairing alone: Common Respect by [livejournal.com profile] mgsmurf. It's a Firefly fanfic with...a Simon/Zoe pairing. Yes, that's right...Simon/Zoe, or Zoe/Simon depending on how you want to work it. It's not a full on pairing, but they are the featured "couple." Heck...just go read it. You may have never thought it was possible, you may have never thought about it at all, but it's worth the read.

I don't know that you'll be interested if you've never seen Tin Man, but it took so much work to get this future-scene out that I need to post.
