My tooth, she is fixed. Sore and tender and sensitive in a way that had my dentist calling me at work to see how I was doing, but fixed. My bank account on the other hand....

On the one hand: I had my tooth re-bonded, but this time I'm also going to shell out for the more permanent veneer to the sum total of 1500. Argh and ouch.

But on the other hand: I'm watching Hook, which is love, for the 1st and a half time (caught the latter part of it last night). Does anyone else watch this movie and have deep philosophical thoughts, or am I just strange like that? Like I could feel the stirrings of meta when Granny Wendy is at the top of the stairs and Peter's at the bottom and she says "Hello there, boy." Presuming that Hook is Peter Pan canon and not it's own thing (like unto the way the Wizard of Oz fandom happily mashes up all things Oz-related), then grown-up, 40-something-looking Peter is actually much older than 70/80-something Wendy. As are all the lost boys still in Neverland.

I love Hook. Ru-fi-o!

I have a veneer on one of my two front teeth from a roller skating accident I had as a child. Today while eating a [slightly stale] pastry and drinking hot chocolate, it fractured. Needless to say I'm going to the dentist tomorrow.

Thank God for a dentist open Labor Day weekend!
