Why isn't fandom up in arms about this?
Mar. 22nd, 2008 11:08 pmActually, fandom is up in arms over FF.net's decision to not only disallow symbols as scene/section markers, but also deleting scene markers already in use. If you have a story currently uploaded to FF.net and you did not use the horizontal line that Word spits out, or the one you can get through FF.net's editing feature, then whatever you did use is gone. No spaces, no asterisk. Gone.
And the announcement that this was happening? New as of today. The same day all the symbols were removed. Email them at support@fanfiction.net and tell them to put the symbols back. There's no reason they couldn't grandfather our section-markers. The only reason I know about this is because of
lieueitak. I shudder to think about what most of my fic looks like. And you people wonder why I left :p
Oy, FF.net.
