He lifted her bare feet into his lap. "Is that so?"
"Don't think to soften the truth with coddling. You're as subtle as a clown at a ballet. And you don't even realize it," she added as he pushed her feet off his lap. She brought her knees up under the long gray dress and let her head drop onto the couch.
"I didn't think you were against curiosity, Prissy."
She pushed herself back up again, glaring at him. "You prove my point. There are bulls in china shops that have more finesse than you do. If it were possible I would say you should give back the family name."
"I can 'finesse' someone out of their money just as well as anyone else in this family."
Snorting delicately, she tossed a carefully coiffed wave out of her eyes. "You can con, I'll give you that, but you certainly lack elegance."
