I dunno how many on the flist are this geeky, but it's worth a shot:

Our foundation is holding an event. We have posted the event on our website. However, you can't see the event using IE (still the most popular web-browser), but you can see it using Firefox. What do we do?! I remember some html, less css, and no java. But I know how to read a tutorial! ;)

Thanks guys!

I'm not very experienced with browser compatiblity issues, but even if I were, I couldn't tell you without looking at your code. The best advice I can give is to run your CSS through a validator (google for one) and make sure that the meta tags on your HTML are flagging for the correct compatibilities. Link to the page?

ETA: I should also add that I have no experience with Java or scripting, and I've only monkeyed with CSS on LiveJournal, so I could either be brilliantly right or just way off the mark. But that is where I would start looking. I know that FF and IE read CSS and HTML differently, and that FF does it the right way whereas IE tries to "autocorrect" authors' "mistakes."

Luckily we have access to the code, so I'll try running it through a validator. Thanks :) And even if it's not the best advice ever, at least it is advice. Our IT guy is getting us nowhere slow.
