Actually this is inspired by this conversation with moony_blues regarding my unusual house sortings yesterday, but...

Does anyone know why the hybrid/meshed Harry Potter Houses are sometimes called "The Seventh House"? I've seen it mostly in hphouseicons when icon makers are referring to their mixed-house icons.

I could understand fifth house, but not seventh... Well, technically, it would add several houses (Huffledor, Ravenpuff, Slytherpuff, Ravendor, Slytherclaw, Slytherdor, plus their inverses if you're going to get picky and use the dominant house as the first half of the hybrid name). I still don't get why they would be called the Seventh House rather than the Fifth...
