long weekend
Nov. 16th, 2008 09:39 pmSo the way one wants to be woken up the day after one's birthday is not by feeling sick to one's stomach. It's also not the way I wanted to mention to the f-list that my birthday passed. Actually I don't think I planned on mentioning it at all, but that's neither here nor there.
Anywho, to give you all the gory details My coworkers took me out to lunch at one of my fave places Fri where I had flautas which are fried. I then had an improvised dinner with the mother of fried fast food. It was supposed to be a real outing but we ended up getting sucked into a TV movie and there went that. Not that I minded. We both agreed and we both had fun, so it was cool. Until about 1:22 the next morning. Ugh. I was in the bathroom every hour until about 4 a.m.-ish. Awful, awful stuff. Needless to by the time that was over there was nothing left in me. I know b/c I was dry-heaving at the end.
I know, I know, more than you wanted to know.
So I got nothing done yesterday. Not laundry, not going to the bank (I'm broke now), not working on transcribing the novel...nada. Me and the couch and my various liquids were fast friends. Heck, I didn't even go online. I am terrified of what my gmail accounts look like. And so of course the first time I seriously look at my computer again what do I do? Transcribe the Tin Man fic I handwrote on the way to work last week. Not the novel. Not the thing I want to get published. Nooooo. That makes too much sense. On the upside, it's just about finished. Katya, feel free to smack me after you read this.
Argh...I feel like I had more to write. I'm a lot better now. There were some "I need a wall to hold me up" moments in church where I just grabbed a seat...or a pillar, whichever was handier. But I'm better even than that. Managed actual food for dinner, I'm actual alert and not just barely conscious. And on that awkward note I leave this post...to check my gmail. meep.
