I'm sorry...I'm behind on my nano, and thus I'm a little frazzled by Yuletide letter writing, too! Seriously. I forgot what I signed up for and had to find my signup email (thank you Yuletide admins!). Please, forgive me if this is a very incoherent letter. Last year I Yuletided, but didn't NaNo, and now I know why.

So if you have me, it's for one of the following: Babylon 5, Martha Wells' The Fall of Ile-Rien series, William Gibson's Pattern Recognition, or Sharon Shinn's The Twelve Houses series. Seriously? I'm easy. I like character exploration, but I like a good action scene, too. The only thing I want to avoid are slash and femmeslash, and NC-17 ratings for either sex or violence.

But if I must be specific:

Babylon 5 (GKar/Lyta Alexander/Michael Garibaldi/Talia Winters) - Really not looking for anything in particular here. Something character study-ish for one or some mix of these characters (and wouldn't that be a feat) would be awesome. These are some of the chars that have always intrigued me on the show. Whether it's a where-are-they-now or some point in their lives before the B5 project, or some out take that happens off-camera, I am completely interested in who these people are.

The Fall of Ile-Rien (Any/Nicholas Valiarde) - I would love, absolutely love, to see a post-series fic. Martha Wells has been publishing/posting some pre-story stuff with Ilias and Gil, but I think we the fans have been seeing to the post-serial life of the chars. As for Nicholas...anything extra-serial would be great, whether it's post-, pre-, or during the series.

Pattern Recognition (Any/Parkaboy aka Peter Gilbert) - Again, anything about anyone in this story would make me really happy. I added Parkaboy as a possible focus character just because we see so much more of him online with Cayce than we do anywhere else. It'd be interesting to know what his offline life is like, or how the pattern effects him as Cayce is living her whirlwind.

The Twelve Houses (Senneth Brassenthwaite) - I'm probably being stereotypical by wanting something that focuses on Senneth (and perhaps Tayse?) but I find her infinitely fascinating. I'm not really picky about how Senneth is handled, whether the story really focuses on her, or if the story is happening and she's the only one of our fearless heroes to witness it. Even the Brassenthwaite family has their interest: What happened to her younger brothers after they ran out of the house to give her traveling money when her father kicked her out? Why didn't her older brothers stick up for her? Are there other magical Brassenthwaites in the family line who look up to Senneth, even if they're afraid of exposing themselves? You get the idea. Whatever you come up with, Dear Author, will make me extremely happy I'm sure.

I hope that all wasn't too...wander-y and weird. I'd tell you to tell me if it is, but that kinda defeats the point, doesn't it? Have someone else suggest that my letter was too loosey goosey? I don't know. What I do know is that you will treat me with a truly wonderful story that I treasure all year. I will look forward to receiving my story, and then look forward again to having it posted on the daily yuletide listing. It's weird, I know, but seeing a story someone else wrote for me on the list is as exciting (maybe even moreso) as seeing my own up. I may not know who you are, but trust me...I'm cheering you on.
