so it's a busy posting day for me, go figure.
Just finished reading
Dark Moon Defender by Sharon Shinn a lil while ago. Most recent paperback in her "Twelve Houses" series. It got not-so-great reviews, this one and the previous
Thirteenth House. I don't understand why for either. Admittedly if you don't like the hero and heroine of DMD you're highly screwed. It's an ensemble cast for most of the novels, but you have whole chapters of the lovers-in-question which could make someone who doesn't care for them a little stir crazed. As for
Thirteenth House ppl seemed to not like the [horribly] bad choice in relationships the heroine took, but I think Shinn dealt with the fooling-around-with-a-married man honestly and realistically. It's amazing how much and how well you can lie to yourself when everything you think you want is right in front of you.
Anyway, didn't mean to soapbox.
Been reading an assortment of fanfic this week as I procrastinate from nano. Am currently reading
Flight of the Sparrow by Eledhwen a Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction that covers Jack's life from cabin boy to captain. Haven't gotten past the first chapter so can't much comment. Seems pretty gen.
Read
Tattoo by
madam_puddifoot yesterday. It was...okay. I dunno. I guess I was expecting something different.
And, like I said, a host of other things I forgot to remember ;)
