on the one hand, we who have decided to participate in the [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 are complete nutters. you know it, i know it, my fellow writers know it, the creators of this crazy thing know it and so do all the sites and communities that have been sapwned from it. (and if you could follow that you are truly amazing.)  and so since we're nuts i guess i really shouldn't have the highest of hopes where fic is concerned.  i don't mean quality-wise.  it's fanfiction.  my expectations regarding quality are always dubious until proven otherwise by the author.  i mean i shouldn't expect people to have half-completed BDTs or super-long stories as they try to churn out 100 works of fiction.

but we do have from now until forever.  with that in mind, why can't people have long works?!  and here's the other hand: it seems like everyone in the fandoms i wanna read is writing drabbles! (drabble - exactly 100 word work of fiction, primarily fanfiction)  i'd rather someone had fewer but longer stories rather than more and shorter stories.  nothing to sink me teeth into, y'know?!  at the very least something more than 100 words long.  please?  would 500 words kill you?  300?  i'm not asking for much.  i think.

and that's my rant.

oh...and i believe in the interrobang.
