i hurt (the lowercase edition)
Jul. 2nd, 2004 11:46 pmmy mom bought new furniture (yay!) a lil while ago and had the wonderful thought that, hmm, maybe a green house doesn't go w/a dark brown leather sectional. i have to agree. tho green's m'fave color, it does make things darker.
okay, so that's the background. our Super was supposed to come in yesterday and paint our house a nice tan. thank God he and Mom tested out the color the night before. it turned out to be this nasty, dead-fish taupe. so white it is. it was supposed to be done by the time i got home around 6:45/7 pm. they'd only done the kitchen and bathroom. so of course i pitched in to help.
we were done around 11 or so, and i was knocked out in my bed by 11:30. i am not in any kind of shape, except for walking around the city. painter i am not. (unless you include my odd abstracts that are hiding in my closet.) my shoulders hurt. my right lower half hurts from putting all my weight on it when i was doing the walls. my neck now hurts from doing some sketching for my boss. my upper arms hurt. i'm sure if i had muscle they'd be all bruise-y looking. my fingers hurt b/c roller handles are made for men, and even for a woman my hands are small. geez...what else hurts? my watch is all paint-speckles. oh! my back. it's not so bad, but still. the space between my shoulders...hurts. and for some odd reason, words are hard. (you have no idea how long it's taking me to write all this)
but they're not hurt-hurt, just achy. the last time we painted was....good grief, it had to be at least 3 years ago now, if not four. that lasted 2-3 days, *and* i was working at summer camp, *and* we did the entire house. there's nothing like getting up, looking at your to'e up (that's "tore up") house and then having to go amuse 30 some-odd girls. and if i remember right, that was the summer that 2 of the 4 counselor's i worked with were airheads and proud of it.
so i guess i'm doing okay, after all that. all i know is, Spidey 2 had better be as action-packed as they promise, cuz i'm liable to fall asleep.
