My pastor's daughter, Melissa...

...is out of ICU as of last weekend. Not only is she out of ICU but is talking even with a tube down her throat (the doctors don't know how) and she's on the rehab floor and is walking with a walker. This is the same woman that the doctors told my pastor would never leave the hospital. Her healing has been so miraculous that they've used what they did on her to successfully treat someone who had a less severe version of what she had. They are also wanting to publish her story/situation in a medical journal. And the city and the hospital are paying for what isn't covered by her insurance--a bill that my pastor says is about $1million. Isn't that crazy?! Isn't God awesome! Even the doctors are like "We really didn't do much...we tried some experimental stuff but it was the power of prayer."

I am so grateful to the support of everyone that prayed for Melissa and the family. The folks at christiangoth have been awesome and so supportive. I'm not related to Melissa, though my family and my pastor's family are friends, but I feel like you guys supported me through this, too. Things don't always work out the way we want them to or expect (an older member of our church who went into the hospital about the same time that Melissa did just passed), but God always, always, always comes through. I'm sorry if I sound cheesy and gushy, but I got most of the story just tonight and I'm still completely astounded by how utterly awesome God is and how completely miraculous this is. Knowing that people all over were praying for her, even if it was a little "God please remember that sick girl from tinpra's lj," you were a part of her healing. God honored all our faith. And, y'know, even if Melissa hadn't pulled through, He'd still be God and He'd still reign supreme. Now, though, she has a truly awesome testimony. And I can gush and squeal and do silly dances to my heart's content ;)
