I have a small slew of reads to catch up on mentioning. Real books first, fanfic second:

Southern Fire by Juliet E. McKenna. It's the beginning of a series and leaves you on a cliffy, of course, but satisfyingly so. I'm looking forward to finding the next one, since I'm not sure when this was written.

Aaaand that concludes the real books ;P Fanfics:

"The Man with No Name" by Frostfyre7 is a Doctor Who/Firefly crossover taking place right after the end of S2 and the following Christmas Special for Doctor Who (sorry can't remember the name of the epis), and right after Serenity for Firefly. So good, so not finished!!!!. Gah! This is what I get for picking up a fic based on a rec (can't remember who by at the mo) and not checking to see if the dratted thing was finished. I am now on tenterhooks waiting and wanting this fic, which I have been reading almost non-stop for the last three days, to be done darnit. This a Ten story, btw.

"Five Things that Methos Would Say to the Doctor" by [livejournal.com profile] jinxed_wood whose stuff I love. A Highlander/Doctor Who crossover. It's the classic five things short story form, but they're all interconnected. I can't remember offhand which Doctor it is.

Sacred Couple by [livejournal.com profile] miladyhawke, written in two parts for the Oh She Knows ficathon. The link will actually take you to the OSK ficathon community. Or I could link it myself but that's too easy ;P. Anywho, it's Doctor Who, a Nine/Rose story. The author has it rated Teen, probably for suggestiveness and innuendo, but I found it fairly harmless considering the possibilities. Anywho, I really liked.

I'd like to throw in here that it is ruddy hard keeping track of the fanfic one reads. And this is just stuff I saved to my del.icio.us in December. Anywho, moving on.

The Doctors by [livejournal.com profile] violet_quills. This is a Doctor Who/House crossover. (Are you noticing a slight theme to my reading choices lately? :p) Ninth Doctor, Rose, Jack and most of the House regulars make an appearance. Just imagine the possibilities of Nine and House going at it. They are impressive, let me tell you.

Dr. House Meets a Gilmore by RSLeofan. This one's a House/Gilmore Girl crossover. I think the title's explains a lot. It's pretty short so if you like either fandom, have a go. The Lorelai-speak and the House-annoyance are spot on.

Phone Call by [livejournal.com profile] jmtorres. A Gilmore Girls/BtVS crossover. Heavy on the Gilmore. And you wouldn't have ever put the Gilmore- and Joss-verses together would you? Well [livejournal.com profile] jmtorres manages perfectly. I've read one other Gilmore/BtVS cross that was longer but also good. Not by the same author. If anyone has more, tho, please shoot it my way.

A Game of Cat & Cat by Rhiannon. A Highlander/Blood Ties crossover. This was a fun, short aside. Please peruse her site. Lots of other interesting stories and crosses. Rhiannon's lj is [livejournal.com profile] gryphonrhi

I also loved, loved, loved this story by Rhiannon, Claire de Lune. Her Oz, in all the Oz stories, is so perfect. There's a random, non-canon element in this one that was handled so well I didn't need her author's note explanation because I fully believed in it. *ponders how this missed getting tagged in del*

and that's it. manga!
